What is the work of a Junior Accountant?

Junior accountants are the ones who provide a vital service to many companies by precisely recording corporate finances. Typical daily job duties of the junior accountant involve balancing financial records, reconciling company bank accounts, and preparing monthly reports. Generally, they work with a team of other accountants & report to a senior accountant. Generally, the junior accountants are expected to give written or oral reports daily, weekly, and/or monthly about the budgets, deficits, debts, and other expenditures of the company. If you want to become a junior accountant then a degree of bachelor's in accounting or related field is generally required. Along with that, some knowledge of computer-based accounting programs such as QuickBooks and/or Peach Tree is normally appreciated but not always required. A Background in banking or tax assessment is helpful, but not required as such. Jr. Accountants are required to have strong oral & written communication skills, intermediate computer proficiency, a keen eye for detail, and mathematical aptitude. They should also be self-driven, detail-oriented, quality-focused, and deadline sensitive.

  • A mid-career Junior Accountant with the experience of 5-9 years can earn an average total compensation of ?217,568 on the basis of 22 salaries.
  • An experienced Junior Accountant with experience of about 10-19 years can earn an average total compensation of ?250,416 on the basis of 12 salaries.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF THE RPSE JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT:-

Educational Qualification:-

  • Candidates must have a degree from a recognized Institutes or University in India.
  • The aspirant must have passed an Intermediate exam of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants.
  • Must have passed an Intermediate exam from the Institute of Chartered Accountants India, New Delhi.
  • Candidates are required to have O? or Higher Level Certificate Course conducted by the DOEACC (NIELIT) under the control of the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India/ COPA/ Degree, and Diploma in Computer Science.
  • Certificate Course in I T i.e., RSCIT conducted by the Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University in Kota under the control of Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Ltd.

Age limit:

The age of the Candidate appearing for the exam should be b/w 18 years to 36 years.

Age relaxation for the Exam is applicable as per the rules of Rajasthan State.

1. SC/ST & BCs- 5 Years

2. PH Candidates- 10 Years

3.  Ex-Serviceman- Shall be permitted to deduct a period of 3 years from his age in addition to the length of service.

4. N.C.C. (a person who has worked as an Instructor in N.C.C.)- Shall be permitted to deduct age a period of 3 years from his in addition to the length of service.

5. Employees of Rajasthan State Government -Years based on the length of their regular service.
