Stages of the SBI Clerk Examination
The SBI Clerk exam is conducted in two stages: preliminary and main. We've discussed both of them in a detailed manner below:
Preliminary Exam: This examination is an objective type exam that contains 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. The duration of this examination is 1 hour which includes three sections: Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability and English Language. The aspirants who clear this examination will become eligible to take part in the main exam.
Main Exam: It is also an online objective type questions test that includes 190 questions for 200 marks. This exam is conducted for 2 hours 40 Mins duration and has four sections: General English, General/ Financial Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. Each wrong answer has a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks assigned to it.
Once the candidate qualifies the main exam will then be called for a language proficiency test (LPT). The LPT is conducted to make sure that candidates have a well-working knowledge of the local language of the state in which they are posted. The final selection call is made on the basis of the candidate's performance in both the main exam and LPT.
